Female Leaders
1) Karin Bohn
Ok so the pandemic hits and there’s nothing to do. There’s nowhere to go and all I have are tv shows, movies, books, and Youtube. After a while, you get tired of watching the same old thing and you start reflecting on life and what it could look like. This is when I discovered Karin Bohn.
Karin Bohn is an interior designer in Canada and she posts videos on YouTube about her creative process, business, and day in the life vlogs. I became obsessed. I had never seen so much business content from a woman online and how she was actively working on her career.
Sure there are amazing women like Opera but I was looking for something that was a little more tangible and relatable.
Karin Bohn got me through the pandemic and she is the first female business entrepreneur I ever came across online. If you’re looking for a creative powerhouse to get you inspired, then there’s no need to look further.
2) Emma Grede
Growing up I saw a lot of amazingly strong women in my life but it was mostly my family members. I didn’t see a connection between a female business leader and mainstream culture. Yes, there were entertainers and public figures but I wanted to learn about the ones who were behind the curtain. The ones who are revolutionizing how people purchase products and services.
Emma Grede is from London. She’s the co-founder, and CEO of Good American, a founding partner of Skims, and co-founder of Safely. She plays an integral part in the Kardashian empire and is the first woman of color to have an investment seat on Shark Tank.
After hearing her speak you’ll be left feeling smarter. Her desire to reconstruct business operations to be more inclusive and progressive leaves you feeling empowered.
If you are serious about how you function within business operations and you’re looking to make a change within the landscape, then this is your heroine.
3) Sophia Lee
This female leader is my latest obsession. Everyone talks about having a side hustle and you see a bunch of influencers but I couldn’t connect with any of them.
Becoming a fashion, makeup, or travel blogger is not the path for me. I’m driven by discipline, process, and strategy. So it was difficult for me to figure out how I can do something with my free time without going against the things I truly valued. That is until I found Sophia Lee.
Sophia Lee is from Wisconsin and is the founder of a successful blog and has recently started an interior design firm. She is incredibly relatable and transparent when it comes to her goals and methodology, making it easy for you to visualize what steps you need to take next.
As someone who is actively working on building a blog and thinking about how I want to use it as a marketing engine for other businesses and products, Sophia’s content has been a total lifesaver.
If you’re looking to start a blog then this is the best person to listen to.
4) Jill Schlesinger
Like most people, COVID has made me become obsessed with my finances. I mean, how could you not become concerned about the level of security you have in your life when a pandemic hits?
Jill Schlesinger is a business analyst for CNBC news and has two different financial podcasts you can listen to, Eye on Money and Jill on Money. Unlike other financial podcasts, Jill worked as a Wall Street trader, investment adviser, and money expert for CBS. It is so important to listen to someone who has a ton of real-world experience.
There are a ton of financial influencers available online and you need someone you can trust. Someone that is able to speak to completely different life events so that you’re well-rounded when it comes to financial literacy.
If you’re looking to start dipping your toes into learning about your finances then Jill is the gal for you.
